Why Google Gets Search Requests for Keyword Google

They get a lot. The last time I checked Google reported 755 million search requests per month for keyword "google".

How can this happen in such incredible volume?

These are "navigationl searches". They happen when people are browsing and suddenly want Google, so they type "google" into the browser URL bar. This is treated as a search, and many browsers use Google to handle this search. The bottom line is that "google" gets typed into Google a lot!
