Meatballs - Simple and Tasty
I use ground beef or ground turkey. You could use any ground meat. Ground lamb may be interesting but I've not tried it. And for the truly adventurous there's ground venison and ground wild boar.
As with all cooking, get the best quality ingredients you can. It makes a big difference.
Place meat in a bowl and allow to come to room temperature.
Add a small splash of olive oil, some garlic powder, fresh ground pepper and a pinch of salt.
Add one or two small splashes of Tabasco.
Add some finely chopped fresh Oregano.
Sprinkle with flour.
Mix well. I do this by hand.
Pull out chunks and roll between the palms of your hands to make a ball. Sprinkle with flour and roll again.
Now saute the meatballs in olive oil, turning as necessary until brown on both sides.
Then add them to you tomato sauce and simmer!
