Life in the Universe - The Probability

Suppose you were given 10 trillion chances to win the lottery.

Do you think you would win?

Astronomers estimate there are 100 billion Galaxies in the Universe and the average Galaxy contains about 100 billion stars. So that's a total of 10 trillion stars.

Or 10 trillion chances for life.

Of course, if there's truly intelligent life out there in the universe the last thing it will do is contact us.

So we'll continue with our usual self centered mantra, "it seems we're the only intelligent life in the universe."
