The Monte Hall Problem
You're on a game show. It's very simple. There are 3 doors. Behind one is a gold bar and behind the other two there's nothing.
You get to pick a door and keep whatever you find.
All doors are equal to you, so you simply pick door #1.
But before you open the door the game show host (who knows what behind each door) opens door #3 to reveal nothing.
He then asks if you would like to change your choice from door #1 to door #2.
Do you? Is there any advantage to changing your choice?
Tech Notes:
Answer: There's a big advantage to changing your choice. In fact, if you change your choice you double your chance of winning.
