Cataract Surgery - The Amazing Details

The surgeon makes a tiny incision in the side of your eye. The incision is way too small to remove your natural lens. No problem.. they blast it with ultrasound and reduce it to fragments and then extract the fragments.

But what about putting in the new artificial lens? Again, it's way too big to fit through the tiny incision. No problem, it's made of flexible silicone, so the surgeon can fold it, insert it, and then unfold it.

The artificial lens is custom made for your eye.

The result is incredible distance vision with no glasses or contacts. But the artificial lens cannot focus for short distances.. so you may need reading glasses.
